On-time, Quality Products and Services
Proveedores

Cummins Drivetrain and Braking Systems is committed to providing on-time, quality products and services that meet our customers' needs. This requires a commitment from our suppliers to provide the same to us.

In this section, both potential and current suppliers can learn about our supplier requirements and the supply chain systems in place. Suppliers can also find information regarding accounts payable inquiries and how supplier diversity is recognized.

Supplier Requirements

The packaging manuals below provide guidance to suppliers on how to package the product being shipped into our facilities. These manuals address issues such as label formats, pallet sizes, package weights and package heights.

For suppliers shipping to our U.S. locations via ocean, the supplier is required to complete the "DGF ISF Form 1006" and submit it to our U.S. import customs broker, DHL Global Forwarding. It must be completed in the format and timeframe outlined in the "DHL Importer Security Filing (ISF) Requirements for Ocean Shipments into the United States" instructions.

We are a member of U.S. Customs and Border Protection's Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) program. As such, we require all suppliers to meet or exceed the supply chain security guidelines of the program. Of particular concern for international suppliers is the adherence to the CTPAT container seal and CTPAT container inspection requirements. CTPAT job aids for each can be found below.

Material Disclosure Requirements:

The European End-of-Life-Vehicles (ELV) Directive 2000/53EC that was entered into force on Oct. 21, 2000 imposes specific rules for materials used in cars. All suppliers are responsible to ensure that the ELV Directive is fulfilled and must inform us about the contents of every part delivered through full materials disclosure (FMD) in the appropriate format.

To ensure regulatory compliance to the ELV Directive and any applicable substance regulations over time, it is necessary to document the material and substance composition of the entire vehicle. The International Material Data System (IMDS) and CDX allow companies to manage the information regarding the material and substance composition of all the components of a vehicle so that compliance to the ELV Directive is documented.

For more information, please visit Cummins' Materials Disclosure and Guide.

What are our Requirements of FMD?

FMD is one criteria to complete PPAP Approval. Refer to SQSR sec 2.14 - European ELV Directive and IMDS Requirement.
Registration of IMDS or CDX ID/Version is mandatory for all parts to secure customer PPAP approval.
Similarly it is mandatory for all suppliers to register their parts in IMDS or CDX as instructed to secure PPAP approval.
IMDS or CDX ID/Version is reflected in PSW.

The IMDS or CDX registration should be commenced 28 days prior to PPAP submission.
For any queries regarding FMD, contact IMDS Analyst via email at [email protected].

Submit the FMD to Cummins IMDS ID 3644 or Cummins CDX ID 13170 as requested for all parts supplied to us.
