Guidanz: The digital service solution for legendary servicing

Guidanz is Cummins' latest digital service tools suite designed for streamlining engine diagnostics, troubleshooting and service event management. Previously known by more technical terms, its naming structure has been simplified into two key functionalities valued by customers during service events called Guidanz Diagnostic Toolkit and Guidanz Service Event Management.

Guidanz Diagnostic Toolkit and Service Event Management combine to give service providers the ability to deliver legendary service to their customers while ensuring expertise and efficiency from start to finish. The result? Service bay productivity is maximized, and vehicle downtime is minimized, meeting the needs of a world that is always on.

"We are committed to making Guidanz even more intuitive for our customers," says Ryan Kikendall, Executive Director in Cummins Digital Organization. "By simplifying our digital solution names, we are making it easier for customers to identify the capabilities they need to succeed, ultimately improving customer satisfaction and uptime with Guidanz Diagnostic Toolkit and Guidanz Service Event Management."

Optimized service events with Guidanz

Cummins is always looking for new ways to streamline service events and improve diagnostics processes. The Guidanz Diagnostic Toolkit accomplishes this through Optimized Diagnostics, which helps vehicles get back to duty faster by dynamically reordering troubleshooting steps and driving technicians to the most likely root cause of a fault code first.

Some fault codes are flagged as Fast Track Repair, meaning traditional diagnostic assessment steps are bypassed so technicians can move straight to necessary repairs - saving valuable time and speeding up service. Furthermore, Predictive Service Insights maximize vehicle uptime by identifying preventative needs before they become major problems, allowing them to be addressed during planned downtime.

More efficient and productive service teams with Guidanz

A robust digital platform as a central hub that simplifies and connects every aspect of the service event. That's where Guidanz Service Event Management comes in, streamlining workflow management and allowing service providers to deliver a more efficient customer experience.

You can say goodbye to juggling multiple systems, because this web-based solution provides one-click access to all crucial service event information, ensuring service teams stay informed and productive within the shop environment.

Beyond efficiency: Guidanz contributes to a sustainable future

In addition to optimizing service, Guidanz also contributes to a cleaner more sustainable environment. Streamlined service events mean faster repairs, reduced downtime and fewer service visits. This translates to fewer emissions and a lower carbon footprint, which aligns with Cummins' Destination Zero™ strategy and supports customers on their path to achieve their environmental initiatives as well.

Water crisis

Sixty Cummins Inc. CustomPaks are in service in Thailand as part of a critical water management plan aimed at easing the country’s water crisis – a crisis that has caused enormous economic and social damage and stirred conflict among communities.

En las últimas décadas, Tailandia ha enfrentado continuamente problemas de agua causados por una grave sequía. Water reserves in dams and reservoirs are insufficient while water resources are often contaminated with toxins caused by urban communities and the industrial and agricultural sectors.

Severe flooding is a threat, too, at a time when the realities of climate change are hanging over the country.

As a result, the allocation of precious water resources, which must be shared among various stakeholders including new and existing industry, large and small agriculture, and cities and villages has become a flashpoint.

Kittithanapat Engineering Co. (KTP), has been involved in the water management system since 1996, working closely with authorities such as the Royal Irrigation Department, Department of Water Resources, Bangkok Metropolitan Authority and others.

600 hp CustomPaks

To help KTP meet its often urgent requirements, Cummins DKSH (Thailand) has recently supplied 60 Australian-built CustomPaks - 45 powered by Cummins' X15 engine rated at 600 hp, and 15 powered by the QSL9 rated at 325 hp. These fully self-contained powerpacks are emissions certified to Tier 3.

The CustomPaks are coupled to hydraulically-driven, large-volume submersible water pumps sourced by KTP from US company Moving Water Industries (MWI); KTP is the exclusive distributor in Thailand for these MWI Hydroflo pumps.

Prior to Cummins’ involvement, KTP was using another diesel engine brand but service support wasn’t up to the standard required.

Long-serving KTP engineer Kittisak Thanasoot says Cummins DKSH’s reputation for technical and aftersales support along with the reliability of the Cummins product were a key reason behind KTP’s decision to specify the CustomPaks for the Royal Irrigation Department.

The ability of Cummins DKSH to respond to short delivery times was also important.

“Supplying large quantities of high horsepower diesel engines for emergency situations such as flash flooding can be a challenge for KTP,” says Kittisak Thanasoot.

“Responding to the needs of the government agencies to manage such problems in a timely manner and with least impact on communities, KTP has found the answer in our partnership with Cummins DKSH.”
