Cummins Releases Upgraded Tier 4 Final Rental Solutions for Two Key Nodes

Cummins is pleased to announce the launch of the C70D2RE, the newest member of the Tier 4 Final mobile generator set product line, powered by a U.S EPA Tier 4 Final certified QSB5-G11 Cummins engine. Earlier this year, Cummins introduced the C100D2RE, a 100-kilowatt (kWe) mobile generator set. These new models replace the Tier 3 generator sets and offer top tier efficiency in rental applications. The new 70kWe generator set is designed to meet diverse customer needs, and is capable of powering different markets due to its flexibility.

All major components of the new generator set are designed and manufactured by Cummins. The QSB5-G11 engine meets the stringent EPA standards without the use of a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) which offers increased performance and facilitates serviceability.

The new generator set is fitted with alternators from the trusted Cummins Stamford product line and the entire system is monitored by the Cummins PowerCommand 3.3 controller.   

All new models are equipped with several features and options which make them robust, reliable and ideal for rental applications. The standard package offers dual frequency operation and switchable voltage functionality, while a 600V option is offered for the Canadian market. The generator sets are designed to operate in extreme ambient temperatures; on one hand, they are capable of operating in high ambient temperatures of up to 50°C, and on the other, a cold weather option package ensures optimum performance in low ambient environments. A new heavy duty trailer and hitch design ensures even greater reliability for the rugged rental application. For faster and cleaner oil changes, a 'Quick Fit' oil evacuation system option is also offered.
