John Gaidoo

Vice President, Chief Legal Officer
John Gaidoo

John Gaidoo is Vice President, Chief Legal Officer at Cummins Inc. In this role, he manages global legal services for Intellectual Property, Labor and Employment, Labor Relations, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Supply Chain. He advises Cummins senior executives and sits on the Cummins Leadership Team. He also manages the selection and evaluation of external legal service providers.

Gaidoo joined Cummins in 2011 as a labor and employment lawyer. He broadened his skillset and management portfolio for many years, taking on additional responsibilities. He helped create and manage global legal support for Cummins' Crisis Management Program, and he served as Assistant Corporate Secretary working with the senior management team and the Board of Directors. He also helped define and execute the strategy for the Cummins Advocating for Racial Equity (CARE) program, which works to advance equitable treatment of Black Americans, and now, Latinos, across several areas of social impact. He held an Executive Director role in Human Resources leading HR for Cummins' Emission Solutions business before returning to the legal function as Assistant General Counsel for Labor and Employment.

In 2018, Gaidoo was promoted to Vice President and Deputy General Counsel for Employment and Labor Relations. His promotion made him the first person in a legal role, other than the Chief Legal Officer, to be appointed Vice President, in Cummins' 100-year history. His management portfolio expanded again to include a newly formed, centralized corporate Global Labor Relations team.

Gaidoo has successfully completed several of Cummins' leadership development programs. He now serves as a Master Facilitator for the company's largest leadership development program and serves in several formal and informal mentor roles inside and outside of the company's legal department.
