Kennedy Boulevard, from All American Boulevard to Wymore Road, will be widened from 2 to 4 lanes. Pedestrian safety will also be improved with the addition of sidewalks and bike lanes. Roadway lighting and median landscaping will also be included. The project will be completed in 2 phases: -Segment 1: The Forest City Road intersection, is to be constructed with the new All American Boulevard Roadway project. -Segment 2: East of the Forest City Road intersection to Wymore Road will be completed as part of the INVEST initiative. Additionally, the impacts resulting from the realignment of Lake Destiny Drive will be determined.
This roadway widening will provide additional capacity to improve the level of service.
Segment 1 is currently in right of way acquisition.
Segment 1 ( W of Forest City Rd to Kingstone Ct.) : Construction Begins Summer 2024, Construction Ends Summer 2026. Segment 2 ( King Stone Ct. to Wymore Rd ) : Construction Begins Summer 2026, Construction Ends Summer 2028.
During the study, several public meetings were held to gain input from concerned citizens, residents and environmental agencies. Also, newsletters were mailed to property owners along the study corridor and others that requested to be added to the mailing list.
