Boron Mine Provided With Reliable Power Source from Cummins

""

Turkey is the world's largest producer of boron minerals, possessing 73% of known deposits. Boron is used in the production of ceramics and glass, including fiberglass, along with agricultural and cleaning solutions among other applications.

A 2,500 kVA power system from Cummins is a reliable emergency source of power for a boron mine facility in Turkey's northwestern region. Cummins Turkey provided a single Cummins C2500 D5A generator set with a silencer and compensator to the Eti Maden plant, located in Balıkesir.

The Power Generation team at Cummins Turkey provided expert sales and project management to implement the right solution to meet the customer’s needs while Cummins authorized dealer AET supported in the commissioning and maintenance of the system with their certified technical representatives.

Cummins' work in the Turkish mining industry has earned a strong reputation. Last year, Cummins Turkey installed three units of the 95-liter QSK95 Series generator sets to support operations at Çöpler Gold Mine in the northeastern part of the country, the first QSK95 installation in the country. Cummins Turkey was also selected as the standby power provider for TÜMAD’s gold and silver mine in the northwest area.
